Letter to
the Observer
A True Story
While working on the
bridge on N.C. 87 South today, one of my men came
to me and said that he just couldn't go on in life.
"I need someone to care
for this big burly man," he said, but no one does."
I prayed with him and
told him that God loves him and if he'd just hang
on one more day, He would prove it.
I have faith in God,
but was still amazed when, five minutes later, a greenish
truck pulled up beside the bridge and a young lady
stepped out with a box full of cold drinks and a bag
full of cinnamon rolls. It said, "Christy" on the
front of the truck.
I wondered if she was
a wife of one of the men but, to my surprise, when
I asked who she was, she said, "I'm just a woman who
loves God and does exactly what He tells me to do
and He told me that someone here needs a blessing
today, so here's some drinks and some snacks. Y'all
take a break and remember that God works in mysterious
ways and I love you guys!" She leaned over and hugged
my buddy, who had needed someone to care for him.
Christy drove away and
waved as she passed.
She left two grown men in tears.
God does answer prayers.
Thank you, Christy!

Christy
Lynch, the good samaritan in this true story, brought
a message of love to the workers that day. She has
had a life changing experience in her own life. The
Lord is using Christy because she is caring, open
and obedient to the Spirit, and willing to share the
love of Jesus whenever and wherever she has the opportunity.
Christy
wrote a poem about her adoption, which is featured
in the True Life Experiences Section on this website.
