A
Calling to Prayer

Dear Lord, what does this
stirring in my heart mean?
Nothing
is wrong, but there is an
urgency unseen?
What
is this disquiet that awakens
me in the night?
You
speak softly of some brother's
or sister's plight.

You
are calling, calling me to
a life of prayer
While
assuring me that you are always
there.
Ready
to listen, to share ... calling
me to be aware
Where
Your care is needed, where
love is rare.

Help
us one and all to listen to
the call
Give
us strength and wisdom to
heed withall
From
You, our Saviour, who knows
us best.
Not
only those in need, but we
also will be blest.

Lord
help us to know the calling
You want us to attain.
Make
the answers we should give
clear and plain,
So
we might hasten to begin the
work that You desire
To
work with dedication and to
success aspire.

Grant
us holy work to do in Your
gracious employ
Thank
You for allowing us the blessings
and joy
Of
serving You through the years
of a dedicated life -
Unworthy
except by Your Grace and sacrifice.

Quiet
Reflections
Let
us away to a desert place,
if only within our hearts,
to study in the quiet of our
souls
what our callings are and
the spiritual gifts
He has given us to attend
to
the calling or callings He
has given us.
Together we can make a great
difference.
