We have not forgotten the weary feet

of soldiers marching to the beat

of rockets flaring in the night,

or bloodied fields with loss of life.

They fought for freedom, fought gallantly

and died so we could all stay free.

But some returned from every war,

wounded within from what they saw.

Mere words of thanks could not repay

the sacrifices made each day.

No, we won't forget what freedom cost.

We won't forget what each one lost!

And we won't forget a prior war

that happened two thousand years before.

God's Son stood in for us that day

and watched His lifeblood wash away

each ugly stain of impurity

that fills the hearts of you and me.

He didn't wear a soldier's gear;

no bursting bombs did He hear,

yet He was captured...tortured, killed,

and from the cross His pure blood spilled.

He gave His life so we could be

forgiven, cleansed, from sin set free.

We've not forgotten nor ever will

the One who died on Calvary's hill.

Take a minute to pray for the families and descendants of ALL those who fought for our freedom...and then thank God for liberty from our sins for HE and HE ALONE won the battle over death and was victorious...for us!

2 Timothy 4:7,8 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me.
