The following Poem Remains a Tribute and a Prayer - 9/11

There are no words that can describe

the anger and the pain

A reign of terror in our skies;

the blood of all those slain

As tears are shed and hands are held

and hearts begin to heal

Make no mistake; we won't forget

that Tuesday called Surreal

So many hurt, so many lost,

so many still not found

No one can make our liberty

come crashing to the ground

This purple mountain majesty

with amber waves of grain

Our country stands united

and the freedom shall remain

I pray for those who danced and cheered

and laughed at all our tears

I pray for misled children

taught to prey upon our fears

I pray for all their parents,

yes I pray for them as well

I pray they all will realize

just how far from grace they fell

This nation will grow stronger

with every brand new day

Our home we call America

was born to be that way

From troubles past to sorrows now

and woes still yet to be

The spirit of America

shines bright from sea to sea

"No man is an island"

quotes a phrase from long ago

Remember good or evil sprouts

from seeds we choose to sow

So when life tests your patience,

try to ponder what you feel

Please do your part; look in your heart

for Tuesday called Surreal

In remembrance of September 11, 2001
