This page was
done just before the war to liberate Iraq
from the tryanny of evil.
I'm keeping it in this patriotic section because I believe
it reflects the heart of what our prayers should always
be for our military in the United States.
I Praise the Lord
for the victories won! An evil despot is defeated.
A people have an opportunity for freedom, but the fight
is not over.
And now, more
than ever, because of the increasing hostilities and
violence, we need to stand fast and continue to pray
and stand in support of the memebers of our military!
They would rather be home with their loved ones, but
are doing what they are called to do, their duty, in
helping to make the world a safer place for us all.
Let's not give up on them and grow disinterested. They
are in harm's way, carrying out the sometimes thankless
job of helping democracy to have its way. Remember that
Freedom is NOT free!
Think of the birth of America!
Thank You
Lord,
for the
men and women of our armed forces.
Protect
them as they protect us.
Defend
them as they defend us.
Encourage
and strengthen them in spirit, soul, and body
in the
execution of their duties and responsibilities.
May they
be mentally,
physically, and emotionally
strong
when they are required
to face the
challenges
and dangers
of combat.
Under-
gird them
with Your Holy Spirit and Might
as they
are called upon
to endure
the hardships
of battle.
May
they not be taken by surprise and astounded
by
the enemy
or anything that comes against them,
but
be aware of all
that surrounds them,
as
You make known Your heavenly
forces
in the air who do battle in the realm
of
the principalities and
powers.
Make
them foresee all potential aggressions
before
they
come upon them.
Equip
our military leaders and all those in command
to
make wise
and knowledgeable decisions,
giving
them insight into the strategies
that
will
best accomplish total victory with as few
casualties as
possible on either side of the conflict.
Please be with those who may be
captured and held hostage.
Be their strength and set them free,
safely back with their comrades.
Give them hope and faith and let
them
know that YOU are there with them
where they are!
Give
our military favor with all the countries
that
could be of assistance
in this war
so
we can stand united with those of the
same
goal ..
a
peaceful world to live and work together.
Thank
you Lord for a superior, well trained,
well
equipped military in
the United States.
Thank
you for the willingness of the brave
men
and women who are now putting themselves
in
harm's way so
we can walk free in this land
of
freedom and rights. Fill them with
love for You
and
call them out among the nations to a faith
in You
and a love for righteousness
as
they honor our country in serving
us all.
Thank
You Lord for the other nations who
were
willing to join with
us to rid the world
of
an evil despot and his fellow leaders.
Bless
them with peace and prosperity
as
You are blessing us.
Bless
and keep the families of our military members
with
peace and
calm as they wait for
their
loved ones to
return home to them.
Give
them the courage of warriors during
the
separation they must
endure.
Help
the little children to understand that their
parents
are fighting for them and
their
right to remain free.
Give
them
supernatural comfort during this time
of
war and hostility. Let
Your Gospel be extended
to
them so they may know that
no
matter what comes,
they
can be with you in security forever!
Father
in Heaven, let us as a nation of free people,
come
together in
unity to uphold our precious rights
and
rally around our leaders who
have so much
on
their shoulders
at this time.
Help
us to stand strong,
not
mocking our country
or
leaders, but upholding them
in
prayer
and moral support.
The
time for protest is over. The fact is:
We
are now at war.
Let
us pray that victory and restoration is swift
and
that this will be a step forward in ensuring
that
all people of the world
can live
in
dignity and freedom and peace.
AMEN!
The
following poem was sent by Marie Alexander and reflects
the
heart's cry of so many of us in the United States in
this time of war.
Our sweet Marie
is now at home with our Lord!
MY PRAYER
Hearts
are heavy now, dear Lord
For
WAR is looming there
Our
prayers are calling out to you,
Our
thoughts too much to bear
Be
with our loved ones--THEY NEED YOU
Guide
them, lead them, see them through
Bless
our leader--for we know
He
asks Your blessings --needs them so
Protect
the innocent--shield their lives
As
bombs and missiles streak the skies
Open
our hearts , fill them with grace
Guard
our loved ones in that place
This
I say--in earnest prayer
THANK YOU
LORD I know YOU are there.

The
words of John F. Kennedy (our 35th United States President)
With
a good conscience our only reward, with history the
final
judge
of our deeds, let us go forth to lead the land we love,
asking
His
blessing and His help, but knowing that here on earth,
God's
work
must truly be our own.
