Scripture:
Galations 5:1 "Stand
fast, therefore, in
the liberty with which
Christ hath made us
free, and be not entangled
again with the yoke
of bondage."
Introduction:
Many are looking forward
to times free from work,
time to play or just
rest. In the Holy Bible
the apostle Paul writes
about our freedom in
Christ. He is talking
about grace. Jesus Christ
has set us free from
the bondage of the law.
What
does if mean to be free
in Christ? I would like
to suggest what that
freedom should mean
to every Christian.

1.
It means that we are
free from the judgment
of God - Hell, if you
please. No child of
God will taste Hell
after death. As a Christian
we may have a lot of
trials and tribulations.
But the day will come
that we will be free
from these.

2.
It means that one day
we will be free from
the presence of sin.
We who are Christians
are aware of the presence
of sin. We live in a
sin cursed world that
seems to get worse by
each passing day. We
find ourselves in a
real battle with it,
the flesh is weak. And,
if we don't stay close
to Jesus, the tempter,
(Satan, the devil) will
overcome us and we will
find ourselves walking
a guilty distance from
the Lord.

3.
It means to be free
from the fear of death.
Jesus Christ through
His death has taken
the sting out of death.
There is of course a
natural fear of death
for most people. There
are some who defy death.
But we who are saved
can have the assurance
that when death comes
for the Christian, the
fear will be replaced
with joy as we enter
into the presence of
the Lord. The Holy Spirit
lives in us now, but
then we will see the
face of our blessed
Lord if we have accepted
Him as our Savior and
made Him Lord of our
lives.

4.
It means free from the
penalty of sin. What
happens when a Christian
sins? Does he/she lose
their salvation and
be lost again? No never,
but God corrects His
children. He loves us
so much that He will
use the rod of correction
on us. But, "If
we confess our sins,
He is faithful and just
to forgive us our sins,
and to cleanse us from
all unrighteousness."
Enjoy
your freedom in Christ.
And, it will mean much
more to you if you will
share it with others.
