THE VALENTINE CARD

Remember the cards we made with such care

To be placed in a box with friends to share

Decorated with hearts in pinks, reds, and yellows

Puppy dogs, teddy bears, and Cupids with arrows

Aspiring young poets wrote lines that would rhyme

I give you my heart - Will you be mine?

The years have gone by with the passing of time

But the memories remain of those sweet Valentines.

Even for those who didn't really like school,

Who could NOT like the Valentine Day Parties?

I know I cherished the little cards that I received.

And I loved spending seemingly hours and hours

Just choosing which card for those special playmates,

And there were always so many .. special ones, that is!

Memories of the early grades in school are so sweet!

And Valentine's Day is a Great Day to remember!
