Each february on day fourteen,

on mountaintops, 'midst forests green,

there blooms at midnight, for just one hour

a solitary scarlet flower.

Up through a snowy mantle breaching,

soft scarlet petals to Heaven reaching.

An unfolding beauty slowly grows

it's the legendary Valentine Rose!

The legend says that he who beholds

this sacred flower as it unfolds;

to him shall come a special love

from Heaven and from God above.

A love so sweet, a love unending;

on Angel's wings from God descending.

A perfect love from Heaven goes

to he who sees the Valentine Rose!

But although I've never seen that rose,

I've got that special love, God knows.

A love I'll cherish for all time -

for I've got you - my Valentine!

Meaning of Different Colors of Roses

The rose is found in different colors and shades.
A few of the colors have been assigned
different meanings by tradition.
Hence one needs to consider this carefully
when presenting a rose to someone.

Red Roses - Love and passion

Yellow Roses - Friendship

White Roses - True love and purity of the mind

Pink Roses - Friendship or Sweetheart

Black Roses - Farewell
